The White King walked into the barely lit room, millions of Thoughts running through his head, all screaming out One thing he can’t believe is happening…his only true friend, his father like figure, someone he cherishes with all his heart….is dying…..his servant, his comrad, his father, Harold Warren.
As Ivan approached him, his gait started to slow down as if weights were starting to make him sink into the floor.
He stood over him, watching his sickly pale appearance invade his strong facial features.
There were maids attending to Harold, Ivan waved them off, and instantly, they hurried out the grand door, leaving them alone.
“Harold…..” Ivan said with a small, weak voice. The king’s trembling hand stroked Harolds head, he simply just couldn’t bare the thought of loosing him….but thankfully, there was a possibility that it wouldn’t come to that.
The poor old soldier fluttered his eyes open, recognizing the face of the iconic white king. He grabbed Ivan’s wrist and held it tight, giving him a weak smile, “My boy…..look at you….growing into someone who I am proud of serving”.
Ivan smiled at him, but truthfully, his heart sank….Harold was just trying to make him feel like someone worth praising…..but that’s far from true….The White King is an infamous Villian….that no one likes….he knows this….he knows he’s truly alone….Harold is the only one that truly loves him…that’s why he can’t go….
“Oh Harold….you always know what to say….” Ivan said, with a big smile.
Harold chuckled but half way through, he started having a coughing frenzy.
As soon as he calmed down, Ivan grabbed his hands and looked into his eyes.
“Fear not, my friend……I have a solution….” Ivan grinned. Harold chuckled once more, nodding his head “My dear boy, you mean the world to me….that is because I know you for who you are…..when I saved you from those wicked savages who invaded our kingdom….I wish I could of done more….saved your family—““Harold no, you did what you could…..I do not blame you…” Ivan said with a nod, “I would of give up my life just to keep you safe…..you are like a son to me, Ivan…a son I could never have….the time has come for you to move on with your life….as for my own, it has come to an end….and I thank you for your time and love…I highly appreciate it…..”.
“No need for a farewell….for I have a solution….” Ivan said with a smile, he pulled out a crystal like rock, which looked somewhat fragile, with a baby blue tint to it….
“This is the Crystal of redemption…the rarest of its kind….it not only cures but it grants immortality!” He said, a smile formed filled with relief.
Harold’s eyes grew with fear, he tried to back away but was too weak to do any of the sort, he heard of that crystal, he heard mixed messages about that same crystal, both good and bad,
“Child! You should never mess around with that type of stuff, it is not something to be taken lightly” “Harold, it can save you! You don’t have to leave me….I-I need you…..I can’t loose you…..” Ivan said, tears forming.
“My boy……life has a cycle that shall be obeyed…..interfering with that disrupts the natural flow of things…..Ivan….if you truly love me….then let me go…..it’s time for me to rest….” the man said as he grabbed Ivan’s face.
Ivan grabbed his hands, tears pouring down his face, finally pulling away and turning around.
The room filled with a menacing silence, Ivan’s wimpers vanished into the nothingness.
He slowly turned around, the darkness of the room hiding his facial features.
He slowly got closer to Harold, making it easier to read him…..Harold’s stomach started to churn as he watched him closely, Ivan had the same expression he had when he was about to strike….a look that he knew all too well….piercing cold eyes looking right through you, a smirk that would make the devil beg for mercy….
“Your right, Harold….” Ivan said with a sympathetic tone, a sharp ring to it making it linger in the air.
His strong demeanor wanted to break, it was easy to tell that he was trying to act strong—which he was doing a pretty decent job, but his eyes collapsed and gave him away.
“But it is a good thing that I love myself First…..” Ivan raised his hand with the crystal and smashes it against Harold’s chest, breaking it, a bluish White mist surrounding Harold’s body, causing his body to be consumed with pain.
Ivan turned around and looked outside the window…..He’ll thank him eventually…..
‘I guess he still hasn’t figured it out…..I have to do what has to be done….performing tasks that people don’t have the courage to conquer…I guess that’s what really does make me a Villian after all’.
