In The Kingdom of Esmeralda, The Sinclair family were nobles who were loyal to the king and queen of Esmeralda. Royce was the youngest child, he had an older brother by the name of, Gulliver Sinclair. Gulliver was the "prodigy" child, mom and dads chosen one, on the contraire, little Roy didn't show much promise in their eyes.
All throughout his life he was raised to be humble and satisfied to have what was given to him, he always felt this bitterness inside of him when he saw others, especially his older brother, getting everything and leaving Royce with the scraps, he tried to ignore this feeling, which worked out for him, training himself to see the bright side in every situation.
At the age of 15, he started to experience these weird phenomenon's, where he would sleep walk and make his way to Esmeralda's signature lake (which was so blue, it almost looked like it was painted by an artist) and he would start to perform these rituals that made him communicate with spirits of the lake.
People started to take notice and eventually grabbed the Sinclair's attention, and started to punish Royce for his witch craft, claiming he was doing this on purpose but clearly that was not the case.
This grew Royce's spitefulness towards his family, due to their unjust ways.
As he grew older, Royce grew into a handsome young man, his brother grew sick and weak due to a sickness he was cursed with. Royce meant a woman who came to Esmeralda one, a fortune teller who had answers for the lost souls. They got to know each other, and she learned about Royce's special abilities, he was a celestial wizard, a person who made contracts with spirits of all kinds, and so she helped him flourish his powers and learn about his true origins.
She opened his eyes to the big picture, Letting him gain new inspiration and ideas.
However, he was visited by a dark omen, who wanted to be contracted by Royce, he states that he could make people desire him, he can promise Royce that he wouldn't be discarded anymore, he would be adored. The poor boy yearning for acceptance and love toke the offer, however this deal came at a price, This vile spirit wasn't like any others, it possessed Royce, taking ahold of his soul. He fed and grew Royce's anger, hatred and envious nature, making Royce spiteful.
He started to change the course of actions, but his parents started to suppress him, making him follow the traditional family traditions since it appeared that Gulliver couldn't proceed in the traditions.
He denied and went on his own way, eventually befriending the king and queen, who didn't have any children due to complications, they loved Royce for he was the son they never had. And so, years later the king and queen perish and Royce becomes the King of Esmeralda...all according to plan.
He "killed his family" who tried to expose him of his evil ways, and started to commit acts of evil in order to gain respect and power.

If Royce could go back and change his past, it would be the day he had meant the Horrid Spirit, to never have struck a deal with him that would change him into a vile villain.

And so the story continues...
