The Maluabo tribe was by far the largest tribe in its region, so big that it eventually evolved into an official Kingdom, adopting mannerisms and different ways to organize themselves in a monarchy level. The neighboring tribes were poor and weaker, so the Kingdom of Maluabo toke them under their wings, sharing their vast resources and spreading them thin, leaving the people of the kingdom with very little for themselves.
Khari and his family ran a family business of threading and weaving, making all sorts of things. His parents were very manipulative and demanding, leaving his course of actions not run to far, but he made the most of it, for he enjoyed the humble life, he didn't ask for much, he just wanted a simple and happy life, while his parents had other ambitions.

At the age of 15, Khari was shown that their family had a secret, that they were part of an underground cult that was ran by creatures known as Soul Eaters,

These are creatures that feed off of the souls of other entities in order for them to thrive, their ambitions is for immortality and a vast longevity.

 

Khari wanted no part of it, but they needed their child to become a soul eater, because: 1) a soul eater isnt born, you become one, however it still runs in your bloof and 2) Soul eaters goal is to have many children because the souls of their own children gives them more strength and endurance.

Khari had a small group of friends and even a love interest that he grew found of, they were his true family.

His parents as much as they forced him to agree in becoming a soul eater, the more he strayed. They decided that they had enough, and so, they grabbed Kharis friends and girlfriend and feed off of them among the cult members. Khari was informed and was broken.

Even though Khari was in distress, he couldn't give in, he was even planning to run away from home and live off of threading and weaving.

Even that was taken away from him....His parents grabbed them, held him down and cut off both his hands and feet, his feet for running away and his hands because they knew he had a passion for threading and weaving. 

They stated that he was very ignorant and selfish for running away from fate and testing destiny's way.

If he wanted to be restored, he must become a soul eater like his siblings.

Khari was outraged and left with no choice but to become the monster they desired.

They formed the ritual and it was successful, Khari was turned soul eater.

Slowly but surely Khari gained strength, seeking vengance for what was done to him, he slowly made his way to the power houses of the cult and got rid of them. This lead to him facing the Queen of the kingdom, the witch who long ago cursed three men in becoming Soul eaters, techniqually speaking, she was the start of his misfortune.

He killed her and became King of Maluabo, ending it with killing his parents in the process.

He tried to control his soul eater counter part, but it grew HUNGRY, it wanted to feed, it wanted MORE.

He fed off of the kingdoms people, slowly turning the kingdom into a land filled with soul eaters as inhabitants.

He cut off all ties with the neighboring villages and hoarded all of their resources, Maluabo becoming a kingdom that had a overflow of valuables.

Even know Khari had all this power that he obtained, he still wanted even more, to feed off of peoples souls, to live out the monster he was forced to become.
